Genesis
I’m currently an MBA student at a fairly prestigious midwest institution, however, I’m finding that my scientific background and indeed my scientific mindset sometimes clashes with the themes I’m learning in the classroom in interesting ways. While on the one hand it gives me an upper hand in the analytical aspics of my studies it often seems like a liability when it comes to, say, the softer side of business, strategy and such. While I’m confident that my education will help me grow in these areas I thought I’d use this space to catalogue my development as well as share my general thoughts and ideas.
I’m going to try to keep this anonymous at least at first only because I envision sharing my political thoughts as well. I’m not a member of any political party or plan on running for office anytime soon and have, in the past, identified with Libertarian, Republican and Democratic viewpoints (and still do). However, I feel that political discourse in the United States has become sadly vitriolic and less about the advancement of American well being, quality of life and solving civic problems which is, in the end, what I believe its purpose is.
That said, I invite all informed and courteous discussion. I believe leadership is surrounding yourself with people smarter than yourself and as I strive to be a successful leader I welcome all thoughts and ideas. I promise to scrutinize them as much as I do my own.
